Formats and Tournaments

Bet on cricket across three formats

Cricket's variety is what sets it apart. In T20, the situation can change with every ball, so live betting demands quick decisions. ODI cricket balances pace and strategy across two innings, while Test matches are a five-day game of patience — pitch conditions, weather and batting order create a new equation every day.

The most popular tournaments among Bangladeshi fans are BPL, IPL, T20 World Cup and the ICC Champions Trophy. f baji offers betting on all of these. Cricket fans from Dhaka and across the country are especially active on days when the Tigers play.

Other Sports

How betting on football and other sports differs

Alongside cricket, f baji also offers football betting. A football match typically has three outcomes — home win, draw or away win. Odds calculation in this three-way market differs from cricket's two-way market (there is no draw in T20 or ODI).

In Test cricket a draw is a valid result, so there are three options — just like football. In T20 or ODI only one of the two teams wins, which generally means lower odds for each side. Understanding this difference makes it easier to choose the right market.

Popular Markets

The 7 markets that attract the most bets in cricket

Each market has its own logic. Below is a brief description of each along with a simple example — the numbers in the examples are for illustration only, as live odds change constantly.

Match Winner

Just one question: which team will win? Two options in T20 and ODI, three in Test.

T20 ODI Test

Toss Betting

Settled before the match starts — which team will win the toss. Odds on both options are usually close to equal.

Pre-Match

Top Batsman

Which batter will score the most runs in a given innings. Odds are higher when there are many batters in the team.

Innings

Total Runs Over/Under

Whether the total runs scored will be above or below a set number. Many bettors look at pitch and weather conditions when choosing this market.

T20 ODI

Top Bowler

Who will take the most wickets in the match. Spinner vs pacer — the nature of the pitch plays a big role here.

Pace Spin

Multi Bet

Combining several matches or markets into a single bet. If all selections are correct the return is much higher, but one wrong selection loses the entire bet.

Multi Bet

Fall of First Wicket

Predicting at what score the opening batter will be dismissed is difficult, so odds in this market tend to be higher. A popular market in T20.

Understanding Odds

A simple guide to decimal, fractional and American odds

Odds are written in three different formats, but all three express the same value. At f baji you can view odds in any format — the examples below show the difference between all three.

Example 1 — the same value in three formats (Team A to win, stake ৳1,000)

Decimal 2.50 = Fractional 3/2 = American +150. If Team A wins, return is ৳2,500 (profit ৳1,500 + original stake ৳1,000). If they lose, ৳1,000 is gone.

Example 2 — odds for the favourite (Team B to win)

Decimal 1.25 = Fractional 1/4 = American -400. American minus odds mean how much you need to stake to make a profit of ৳100. A ৳1,000 bet returns ৳1,250 if it wins (profit ৳250).

The decimal format is the simplest — multiply your stake directly by the odds to get the total return. The fractional format shows the ratio of profit to stake. In the American format, a plus (+) sign shows profit on a ৳100 stake, while a minus (−) sign shows how much you need to stake to make a ৳100 profit.

In a multi bet you multiply the odds of several matches together. Say three matches have decimal odds of 1.40, 1.60 and 1.70 — the product is 1.40 × 1.60 × 1.70 = 3.81. So a ৳100 bet returns ৳381 if all matches win. But if one selection is wrong, the entire bet is lost.

Live Betting

How odds change when a wicket falls

Live or in-play betting is one of the most engaging parts of cricket betting. During a match, odds update in real time with every event — a quick wicket lengthens the batting team's odds, while the bowling team's odds shorten when they are in front.

At the end of the Power Play, when a spinner is brought on in the middle overs, or when a high run rate is needed in the final five overs — each over brings new opportunities. Live betting does come with time pressure, so it is important to keep a clear head when making decisions.

In Test matches, live betting requires even more patience — pitch behaviour changes from day to day, and a rain break can shift the whole picture.

Useful Tips

Things worth knowing before you start betting

Betting is a form of entertainment, not a reliable way to make money. Keeping these tips in mind will help you have a better experience.

Set a budget. Decide in advance how much you will spend each week or month. Do not go beyond that limit, even after a loss.
Start with one market. Match Winner is the simplest for newcomers. Try other markets once you have more experience.
Understand the format before choosing a market. Predicting total runs in T20 is different from doing so in ODI — each format has its own pace.
Avoid rushing in live betting. In-play requires quick decisions, but analyse with a clear head — betting on impulse often leads to regret.
Read the terms and conditions. Knowing the terms of bonuses and promotions avoids confusion later. Read our Terms and Conditions for full details.

Common Questions

Cricket Betting FAQ

T20 matches finish in a few hours, so odds move fast and live betting is especially active. ODI cricket has two innings and a full day of play, giving more opportunities for mid-match market changes. In Test cricket, the pitch and weather shift over five days — a draw is a valid result, so you can bet on three outcomes.

A multi bet combines several selections and multiplies the decimal odds of each to get the total odds. For example, if three matches have odds of 1.40, 1.60 and 1.70, the combined odds are 1.40 × 1.60 × 1.70 = 3.81 — a ৳100 bet returns ৳381 if all win. But if even one selection is wrong, the entire bet is lost.

In live betting, odds update with the outcome of every ball. When a wicket falls, the batting team's chances of winning drop, so their odds lengthen. When the bowling team gains the upper hand, their odds shorten. Big run requirements in the final overs or a high-scoring Power Play can also cause dramatic mid-match odds swings.

Yes, both tournaments offer the main markets: Match Winner, Toss, Top Batsman, Top Bowler and Total Runs. BPL features local teams, so Bangladeshi users tend to follow those markets closely. IPL has more teams, which means a wider variety of markets.

Yes, mainly in the number of possible outcomes. In T20 and ODI only two results are possible — one of the two teams wins. In Test cricket a draw is possible, giving three options just like football. Cricket also has markets like Toss, Top Scorer and Over/Under that offer more variety compared to football. Football has its own specific markets such as Half Time/Full Time and Corner Count.
